A group of volunteers place their hands on top of each other's to signify teamwork.

Our blue marble has circled the sun for a long time, and continues to offer a place for humans and animals to call home. It’s the most important place in our solar system as no other planet near or far can support life as we know it. For that reason and many more, it’s important to preserve the environment and protect our natural resources. A-American Self Storage is spreading the news and hoping that everyone gets involved in saving the Earth at the annual Confluence Trash Bash in St. Louis, MO.

The Confluence Trash Bash – Save the Date!

This annual event takes place on March 18 between 8 a.m. and 1 p.m. and aims to clean up North St. Louis County. Everyone’s welcome to participate, regardless of age or experience. All volunteers can select between multiple starting locations, such as the Old Chain of Rocks Bridge or the Creve Coeur Park. Not only will you get a free lunch for helping out but also the satisfaction of knowing that you made a difference in the community.

Why You Should Volunteer

With more volunteers, more will get done – in a quicker amount of time. Volunteers are the backbone of a community and help with everything from coaching sports teams to rebuilding houses and schools. Nothing has a greater impact on a community quite like a volunteer who cares and wants to see change.

While only a few litter, it is detrimental to the environment and wildlife. Without volunteers helping to clean up St. Louis, MO and the surrounding area, the city and the county would become a waste dump for later generations.

How You Can Save the Environment at Home

Saving the environment starts at home by turning off the lights and appliances when you’re not using them. You can set the thermostat lower when you’re away or run the ceiling fans instead of the air conditioner. Switching to energy-efficient lightbulbs and recycling paper, plastic, and anything in between, makes a big difference.

You can also use self storage in your quest to clean up your home and the environment. When it comes to recycling, use our storage units to store your unused items for a future yard sale, or sort your recyclables with the extra space our storage units offer. You can get rid of any clutter in your home by storing it in a short- or long-term storage unit, keeping it out of the way and reducing its impact in your home.
